My name is Jacob Devine
I am a photographer based in the remote hills of Gisborne, New Zealand.
I specialise in fine art/documentive photography of locations and activities around the country.
My photographs are incidental to what I do and the places I go. I’m very introverted, so I find myself slipping away from social obligations and photographing my surroundings to cope.
I want the mark of human hands to be shown in my work. This is why I am drawn to darkrooms; I put a lot of hours into printing and the darkroom is a place of zen to reflect on my memories and experiences.
